Free Card Exchange & "Go-Live" Date Baby!!

Free Card Exchange.   

The Card Exchange is set in a very relaxing, fun & friendly atmosphere that meets every other month. 

It's nice to share, learn, listen, & relax.  The cards that are swapped are both made by beginner, intermediate and advanced card makers.  Everyone is welcomed and greeted with enthusiasm.  Learning from one another certainly pays off!!! 

There is not a specific theme for the August Card Exchange.  We chose to recycle, recycle, recycle!  Let's face it, we all have many supplies sitting around waiting to be touched, played with, and used!! 

Free Card Exchange, August: 

Saturday, August 7th at 11am.

Our social gathering is just for fun.  Attendance at the swap meeting is completely voluntary.  If you can't attend Saturday, August 7th at 11am.....you simply DROP your cards off at one of the two "drop-off" locations (one in Carlsbad, the other in Vista)  by Friday, August 6th.

On Monday, August 9th, for those of you that missed the meeting your cards (and those swapped) will be ready for pick-up from the same location your dropped them off.  You will "ooooohhhh" and "awwww" at the cards you receive in return!    Some of the cards will come with directions explaining techniques, products used, etc. 

Please send us an email if you would like to participate in the August Exchange. 

Your cards should be very similar in color, theme, etc.  They do not have to be identical but please try your best to make them as close as possible.  Each card must come with an envelope. 

Participation is limited to 20 card-makers.  You will never have to make more than 20 cards!  (Easy right???)  We currently have 7 spaces available.

Bobble Scarf Class.....TONIGHT!

Although summer is quickly approaching, the cool nights are here to stay.  Come learn how to make a cozy bobble scarf.  This unique design is as fun to make as it is to wear. 

 

During class, we will cover the chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, bobbles and fastening off and darning in ends. 

 

Participants need to be able to form a simple chain with even stitches.  Class fee includes all you need to complete this project.  A variety of yarn colors in both solid and variegated styles will be available.

 

Cristy made each participant this cute little hand made crochet hook case and included a hook for each of the attendees.

VI-Pink Members can also sell items at Dollar Days for FREE.  Members will have their own station, keep track of their items and collect money from items they sell.  However, ITEMS MUST BE SOLD AT $1, NOTHING HIGHER.  Items can be grouped together or sold seperately.  There will be no need to price anything! Seller's (Members only) will receive 100% of their sales in CASH!!

Club Create

Are you ready to discover your own

 personal scrapbooking style? 

 

Club Create is an outlet for increasing your Scrapbooking creativity and challenge you to "Scrap outside-the-box."   

 

A new technique will be demonstrated at each class meeting.  An array of products & materials used for the the demonstration will be set out giving you the opportunity to pull-up your sleeves and play!! 

 

Participants will receive a kit and be given a new challenge each month.   These tools are great resource for creating new and exciting Scrapbooking pages (or other projects).  Bring the pages and/or projects to the following Club meeting to share with the group. 

 

The first Club Create meeting will be an opportunity to get a feel of the format, style, and flow of the class.  After the first meeting, Club Create will run on a 3-month schedule.  The Club will meet  on the 2^nd Tuesday of each month from 6:00pm-8:00pm. 

 

The first Club meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 13^th.  Come prepared to learn, create, and inspire! 

The cost of the first club meeting is just $20. 

Weekend Scrapbooking Retreat

The Scrapbook Retreat starts on Friday, August 13^th at 10:00am with non-stop scrapbooking until 4:00pm Sunday, August 15th!  The retreat is held at a Scrapbooking Retreat House in Escondido.

 

You deserve a 3-day weekend escape after spending a summer packed with activities!  No doubt you will have a TON of pictures to Scrap!!

  

What's Included??

 

A special guest will be on site to prepare SEVEN delicious meals.  She will serve our meals on a SET schedule!!  Meals start with lunch on Friday, giving you plenty of time to set up and relax!  Meal service will be completed with lunch on Sunday.  Unlimited snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided around the clock!!

 

Each guest will have a spacious 6-foot cropping table, a comfy cushioned executive office chair with wheels, making it easy to roll in & out to grab extra supplies, a natural OTT light, and drink holder!

Take advantage of the computer station for all of your journaling and title needs. There are two computers, a regular printer, a wide carriage printer & a Silhouette computerized die-cutting machine. Each computer has hundreds of fonts to choose from, including Becky Higgins, Journal Genie and Creative Keepsakes Software. Each computer also has a variety of photo editing programs.

Need to get on-line? No problem. Free Wifi set up for your use!! Bring your own laptop and work directly from your own table!  

 

Each guest will sleep in a comfortable twin bed equipped with a pillow-top mattress & plush fleece blanket!  The color of the sheets on your bed will be "your" own color for the entire weekend.  All of your bath towels, baskets for toiletries and food & even your key holder

will match your color.  No need to worry about someone else using your towel. Every guest has a place for their personal items without cluttering up the counters.

ATC (Artist Trading Card).....

Wanna come out and play??

How about a little creative swappin'? I LOVE collecting ATC's!!  Here are two of my favorite.....the "ninja" ATC was made by Ally of course!! 

Some people want to know...what would I do with them???  Well I keep all of my little ATC treasures in plastic protective sheets....

Some people use them as an embellishment on a Scrapbooking page, some place them on the front of a card....voila ....card done....no work on your part....and it looks so detailed and beautiful instantly!! 

We have room for 4 more participantsin this month's ATC Swap. 

Here are the details.....

Make 12 ATC cards.... (1 for each participant)
The size of the ATC must be 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" NO BIGGER, NO SMALLER
Theme is "Girl's Night Out"

Due date is July 1st. 

If you can't meet for a little swap and crop....email your address & we will mail the 12 ATC's collected at the swap. You will need to make sure your cards arrive by July 1st either by mail or drop off at one of the two locations listed in the evite. 

The 12 cards you create should look somewhat the same, except for little details you may not have enough of to make 12 for example...use an embellishment that looks very close to the same as the other embellies you use but it may have a different image or "saying."   The backside of the ATC's should include your name, blog address (if you have one), and ATC # for instance, 1 of 12, 2 of 12 and so on. You may also want to write "Girl's Night Out" on the back of the card.

Sharing Techniques At The Free Card Exchange.....

This morning we gathered for the Free Card Exchange.   The exchange takes place every other month. 

It was soooo nice to share, learn, listen, & relax.  The cards keep getting better each time.  Learning from one another certainly pays off!!!

The "In a Pickle" card shown here was one of my absolute  favorites!! 

Bless Nicole's little heart. She drives almost an HOUR to share in the joys of the exchange! 

Nicole made her card using a transparency.  It was cut into the shape of a 2-sided jar using a Cricut cartridge.  She then smeared green alcohol ink on the back piece of the transparency. The pickle "layers" inside the card were also made using a Cricut cartridge.....so darn genius!! 

Too bad I didn't have this card two weeks ago.....my son got caught in a "pickle" during a baseball game (unfortunately, he was not safe ...*sad face*).  This card would have been a cute surprise for him!!

Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks will be offering memberships into the "VI-Pink" (Members) program.

Members will be entitled to participate in one online class each month, valued at $15 or less, for free.
