So Here's THE SCOOP!

By far one of THE BEST releases came from Prima "Flowers."  Their products are always so far out of the "box" and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!  They really bring a fresh new innovative style at eacj release.  I'm not going to spill the beans on the BIGGEST surprise from Prima yet....but I will say their new corrugated paper, canvas stitched paper, new trims, flowers, crystals, patterned papers.....holy cow....truly....THE ROCK!!!  So after we made our VERY LARGE order, Teri got to "scoop" up flowers into a prima bag for a whole 10 seconds!!  Yes Ladies, one of you lucky little CHA revealing party attendee's will take it home!!  She did goooood too!  Not only that, but with our order we are getting  A WHOLE LOT MORE bags and bags of flowers, some in brights and some in darks!!  woot woot!!  Hanging out with Donna Salazar one night after the show was such a treat.  Getting to know her on a more "personal" level was fantastic.  She is truly one of THE nicest, most sincere person I have ever met.  We all "bonded."  I love this photo of Ally S.(our card and layout teacher) showing off her favorite Prima trim....yes, it's the BRIGHT GLITTERY turquoise ribbon wrapped around her cute little forehead....peace out mama!

See how when you tear the edges of the paper it shows the corrugated paper behind it?  So way cool.

Here is one of the new canvas stitched 12x12 paper's that was released at the show.  The doodling, roses, leaves, are all stitching on the canvas!!!  Seriously people.....so dang clever!!  Now we don't have to pull out our sewing machine EVERY time we scrap...whew!

Teresa Collins & Monthly Themed Crops

The Craft and Hobby Show was sooooo good!  We don't want to spill the beans all at once, but we will tell you there are some HOT new companies that have hit the industry!  However, we also just loved the staples....such as Teresa Collins, Making Memories, American Crafts,Chatterbox, Prima, 7 Gypsies, Fancy Pants, Sassafrass Lass....so so so many more!!   

Speaking of Teresa Collins, she is just the sweetest little thang....

WE loved all four of her new releases!!  We just got in our second order of her crush line so I had to take some pictures of the cool layouts and projects that Mzzzz. Collin's made herself!  She is just down right FAB-U-LOUS!!         

American Crafts & CHA!

Don't you just love the little American Crafts $1 ribbons?  What a cool concept to send a box of DOLLAR ribbon for each season or holiday.  We just got our shipment of darling Valentine ribbon.  We also re-stocked our American Crafts paper packs.  We have the "Brights" and "Neutrals" in stock right now.  We only have them in the 12x12 size for now.  Let us know if you'd like these cardstock paper packs in different sizes.  There is a list of all the pack sizes right next to the photo.  Here is a little sneak peek of American Crafts new line called "Craft Fair."  So glad that the "details" embellishments are packaged better now.          

We are off to CHA, Craft and Hobby Association, to hit up all the VIP parties....gotta get YOU (our faithful customers) a little sampling of all the new product that will hit our store soon!!  We will be having a "revealing" party to show off all the new and fun products.  Not only will we be updating you online each day, we will also bring the product HOME for you to touch, feel, ohhhh and ahhh over....and have a chance to win the new goodies before anyone can even buy them!  Can I hear a WOOT WOOT!!

Ok Girlie's, we've been workin' our tail off over here at Pink to get this little bloggity filled with as much information that we can.  Take a look at the sidebars!!  If you take a little lookie on the left side, we have the Calendar link completely updated with February classes and any other events we already have planned for this year.  We have our Design Team link up and working, to introduce you to some very talented ladies.  We will be uploading pictures of their page samples, and the recipes so you can see how they made each layout....how cool is that?  We have links to some of our favorite vendors that we currently carry, and boy will be adding more to that puppy as soon as we get back from the Craft and Hobby Association at the end of this month.  We also have some fun links to friends, teachers, and good reads.  On the right side over there.....>>>  We have a link to PICTURES of our February classes.  If you click on the picture you will detailed information about when the class is scheduled, who's teaching, and the cost.  We also just added a VERY COOL new Flickr account that we hope you will all join and upload pictures of pages, products, cards, etc. that you made either while at Pink Pineapple or just with the product you purchased here!  We'd love to see your creations.  If you click on the Flickr link you can easily become a member of our pink.pineapple.pool!  How fun is that? 

As you know, we are going to be having different hostesses throw a "themed" crop each month for the entire year!  Gloria and Krystie will be hosting the first one on January 30th from 6pm to midnight.  The theme is the Pajama Party Crop!  Although this themed crop is full, we will be posting our dates and themes for the rest of the year's crops coming in the next few days!  Be sure to sign up quick if you see a crop you are interested in. This Friday we do have some spots open.....so come in your PJ's and have a Pre-PJ Party crop!! 

Mommy & Me Craft Monday, Martin Luther King, Jr. &The Presidential Inauguration

    King was a black civil rights leader, minister, advocate of nonviolence, and the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.  As most of you know he was assassinated in 1968.

    Martin Luther King, Jr. has always been a man that I have admired, for his profound words of wisdom, his spirit, his loyalties, his entire being, what he stood for, and how he presented himself.

Although I was born 2 years after his tragic death, I will always and forever remember his most famous speech  "I Have A Dream" given on August 28, 1963.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." 

I too still share this same dream even today.  I long for a world without judgement of other people, whether its the color of their skin, their economic status, what clothes they wear, the schools they attend, disabilities they may have.  I believe in only ONE JUDGE.  I believe we will be held accountable for judging others.  Our job is to treat people equally and with kindness.  With that being said the Mommy & Me Craft will be in honor of Dr. King's speech.

The Mommy & Me Monday Craft, January 19th from 11:00am to 6:00pm will touch a bit on MLK's vision.  The kids will be making necklace's.  They will paint a star yellow.  Stamp the words, "I Have A Dream" on the front, and write their dream on the back in their own handwriting (or Mom's writing for the little guys).  They will attach a string for the necklace and stickle the outer rim of the star.  Cost for the craft is $1. 

 

 

 

Tuesday, January 20th from 9:00am to 6:30pm we will be honoring the PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION by offering all of our customers a 25% discount off any product that is red, white and blue.  This will include paper, embellishments, ribbon, buttons, flowers, ANY PRODUCT in the store except kits. 

More NEW product!...and THE Leah Fung Saturday!

Whoa nelly....the new product just keeps rollin' in every day.  Ok, so literally there are so many new paper lines that have come in these past two days I just can't name them all, remember them all, or find pictures of them all!!!  Come on in and see for yourself!

THE Leah Fung is teaching Saturday, January 17th from 11:00am to 1:00pm.  Leah will be teaching as a certified Prima teacher for this class and the project is this cute Paper-clip Wall Calendar made using Prima product, glitter, sequins, beads and other fun scrappy things.In this class you will display the months January to June, but bring home the cards for July to December to swap them out when the time comes.  The actual sample has 6 panels and can be seen up close and personal at Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks.  The cost for this class is only $27! 

About Leah:  She is the contributing Editor for Scrapbooks Etc.and Better homes and Gardens.  She is on many Design Teams such as Making Memories, Chatterbox and many others.  Her work has been published in too many publications to list.  She is such an inspiration to the scrapbook industry!!  What an opportunity to learn from the best!!

New Best Creations Glitter Paper & 3 Spots for Fridays Crop!!

Wow....the new product really does just keep on rolling in!   Everyone just LOVES the new glitter paper releases from Best Creations and this shipment is no exception.  The chipboard albums are so great to work with too!  The new lines we received are Easter, Saint Patrick's Day, a Kite Theme, Baby Boy & Girl, Summer, and  the "Dare to Dream" line which we placed in our Disney section.    The new solid glitter card stock is much different than the two types we currently carry (Doodle Bug and Creative Imaginations).  It is much brighter, the glitter flecks are in different colors on the same sheet to give the look of a little bit of contrast, and the glitter does NOT come off on your hands or fall on the floor!!

       

 We will get better pictures of the product tomorrow.

New Flickr Account for Pink Pineapple & Art Journal Class!

We are so thrilled to have a new Flickr account just for Pink Pineapple!!  This is a place where customers can go to get inspiration for pages, projects, cards, etc.  You can also upload your own work, as long it was done using product purchased at Pink Pineapple.  This will be an awesome flickr group to put in your "favorites" as new projects will be uploaded daily!  Here is a link to access our account, you must "join" and register as a member.  It only requires your email address and a password of your choice...simple!    http://www.flickr.com/groups/pinkpineapplescrapbooks/

Art Journal Class with Terri K. 

Wednesday, January 14th  6:30pm  to 8:30pm

Do you want to learn about Art Journaling? Do you already art journal and want to get together with others who share your passion? This class will meet once a month (the second Wednesday) from 6:30-8:30. Every month we will start with a show-n-tell and then you will learn a new mixed media technique that you can practice during the month before our next class. You will also receive every month four journaling prompts to help you if need a little inspiration/motivation. You can sign up to attend during any month. We will start with the basics in January. You will learn what tools/materials to use, what type of book to use, and you will learn some background techniques to get you started.  

 

Kid's Classes and Crafts

With so much going on at Pink these past few days, we have neglected to update our kid's classes.  On Monday,  January 12th starting at 11:00am you can bring your kiddo's in to the store to make a key chain.  The key chains say "Mom" or "Dad."  The kid's will decorate the paper that is inside the plastic covering, and then they can stickle the outside if they choose to.  This craft was a huge hit at the local school's Holiday Boutique.  The cost for each key chain is $2.   There is no limit to the number of key chains they choose to do.   

Mommy & Me ABC 12x12 Album class.  Monday,January 12th 12:30pm to 1:30pm.This class is geared toward kids ages 3&up along with their mommies. This is an ongoing class that meets once a month, usually the second Monday of each month . The children will complete a 2-page 12x12 layout for their ABC Album. This month the kids are working on the letters E,F,G,H. Please have them bring 1-2 pictures of people, items, and/or actions etc. that start with these letters. The sample uses the words “Eggs, Football, Garden, and Hugs.” If the children want to paint one of their words, the following stamps will be available: “Explore, Family, Friends, Gal Pals, Generous, Giggle, and Happy.” It’s never too late to join this class. Kits can be purchased for the missed classes, or you can just take the class when it comes back around after we have gone through the entire alphabet. Please bring a basic tool kit, especially adhesive (glue dots are helpful).  

This last week at Pink has been so fun.  We have had some amazing classes, an awesome book signing event, the best Book Club group, and of course Michelle Hill's Polka Dot Whimsy crop....who could ask for more?  Here are some pic's from our events this week. Diva Danielle and Raime were so great.  They displayed a bunch of the projects featured in their new book Designing with the Divas.  They also lead THEBEST make-n-take in book club history!  (Ok, in my humble opinion.)  Here is a little peak at the fab make-n-take:

Oh and yes Elena...we checked...you were right- we do have the longest and most successful Book Club in San Diego.   Thanks for bringing this spectacular event to our store.  You have enlightened us all with your know-how and knowledge in this radically changing industry.
