The first class will be centered around creating embellishments & paper.  A little "buffet" of product, mediums & tools will be set out to use during class.  Come prepared to get your hands dirty & have a blast!! 

 

A new "Challenge" will be revealed at the end of each class!  The class includes a "take-home" kit containing product and/or tools from the "Inspiration Station". 

 

Do not feel limited to using the items in the kit for your Challenge layout!!  If you decide to continue to join us for the Inspiration Station class bring your layouts and/or projects to share with the group the following month.  

 

The class atmosphere is always relaxing, fun, social, & inspirational.  You will love the format, style & flow of this class.

Directions for making ATC cards:

 

Make 12 ATC's in total....

(1 for each participant)

 

ATC's must measure at 2.5" x 3.5" (this is the standard size of Artist Trading Cards)

 

Theme for August is "SUPER HERO'S." Have fun with it!!  Don't just think "Batman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman....think....who is your hero?  What super power would you want to possess?  Make up your own Super Hero....anything goes....get creative with it and have fun!!

Due date is AUGUST 24TH.  

The front of the ATC should be designed with the theme in mind.  All 12 of the ATC's you design should look very similar with the exception of any little detail (such as an embellishment) you may have to substitute.

 

The back of the ATC should include your name, blog address (if you have one), the theme, and the ATC # for instance; 1 of 12... 2 of 12 & so on.

The "get together" was scheduled for the same night as an ATC online tutorial.  We hooked up the laptop directly to the big screen & watched ATC tips & demonstrations while we socialized!!  It was pretty cool!      

Only 6 participants, of the 12, were able to attend the get-together.  We had a super fun time!! 

Two of the ATC "swappers" live out of state and mail their ATC's ahead of time!!  Pretty cool!!

Club Create & VI-Pink July Give-Away

Our phone system is up & working .....Hooray!!!!     VI-Pink July Give-Away.....   You will be entered to win our monthly give-away just for being a VI-Pink Member!!   The prize this month is a 13x13 red paper/project container, A black v-neck shirt (size M) that says, "Adhesives crank my handle," by Xyron, and a darling little white mesh bag.  The bag/purse is "bling-ed" of course and has been adorned with a Pink Pineapple cut from fabric (compliments of Michelle Hill)!  The black letters that spell out "Pink" are made from felt.   The purse handle has been tied with 4 different ribbons.  The bag is filled with fun little embellishments!!  You must be a VI-Pink Member by July 30th in order to be eligible for an opportunity to win the July prize.     June's VI-Pink Winner was Donna L. On Sunday, June 25th one lucky VI-Pink Member won the VI-Pink Monthly give-away!!   We had a slight "technical" difficulty with filming the drawing.....so we are just going to post the one video that shows the winners name being drawn from the jar.

Free Card Exchange & "Go-Live" Date Baby!!

Free Card Exchange.   

The Card Exchange is set in a very relaxing, fun & friendly atmosphere that meets every other month. 

It's nice to share, learn, listen, & relax.  The cards that are swapped are both made by beginner, intermediate and advanced card makers.  Everyone is welcomed and greeted with enthusiasm.  Learning from one another certainly pays off!!! 

There is not a specific theme for the August Card Exchange.  We chose to recycle, recycle, recycle!  Let's face it, we all have many supplies sitting around waiting to be touched, played with, and used!! 

Free Card Exchange, August: 

Saturday, August 7th at 11am.

Our social gathering is just for fun.  Attendance at the swap meeting is completely voluntary.  If you can't attend Saturday, August 7th at 11am.....you simply DROP your cards off at one of the two "drop-off" locations (one in Carlsbad, the other in Vista)  by Friday, August 6th.

On Monday, August 9th, for those of you that missed the meeting your cards (and those swapped) will be ready for pick-up from the same location your dropped them off.  You will "ooooohhhh" and "awwww" at the cards you receive in return!    Some of the cards will come with directions explaining techniques, products used, etc. 

Please send us an email if you would like to participate in the August Exchange. 

Your cards should be very similar in color, theme, etc.  They do not have to be identical but please try your best to make them as close as possible.  Each card must come with an envelope. 

Participation is limited to 20 card-makers.  You will never have to make more than 20 cards!  (Easy right???)  We currently have 7 spaces available.

Bobble Scarf Class.....TONIGHT!

Back by popular demand......

Monday, June 21st

6:00pm-8:30pm

 

Although summer is quickly approaching, the cool nights are here to stay.  Come learn how to make a cozy bobble scarf.  This unique design is as fun to make as it is to wear. 

 

During class, we will cover the chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, bobbles and fastening off and darning in ends. 

 

Participants need to be able to form a simple chain with even stitches.  Class fee includes all you need to complete this project.  A variety of yarn colors in both solid and variegated styles will be available.

 

Cristy made each participant this cute little hand made crochet hook case and included a hook for each of the attendees.

If you want a certain color, you may want to stop at Walmart to pick up yarn.  Otherwise, there will be several colors to choose from...but they are all "multi-color."
